Easter and First Steps

We visited Cash's Nanny Sara and her parents for an Easter egg hunt.

The hunt was a little overwhelming, so we played with eggs back at the house.

Peter, Sara's dad taught us how to dye eggs the Latvian way.

Today was also the day that Cash decided to start walking. Wobbly still, but

pretty confident that he could do it. He has been speed crawling so long, he

didn't see what the fuss was. Video re-enactment below.

Now that Cash is more mobile, Mama has less time to blog (or at least that's my excuse).

Cash has turned into a toddler right before our eyes, though his height could pass for a 3 year old. He can stand alone for a few seconds, crawls and climbs stairs like a champ, and loves to see what he can climb up on. I think the cats are an influence. He babbles when he feels like it and says words when you least expect them. A handful so far: Mama, Dada, Up, Pig, Cat (or Dat).

He loves anything cars, trucks and wheels. He hears everything outside and wants to go to the window to see. He loves being outdoors. We are now learning how to share since he seems to want any toy any other kid has at play gym. He also really enjoys reading books of any kind, particularly ones about cats.

8 Months Milestones

The past couple of weeks have been big changes for Cash. He is growing taller, slimming down (his size 18 months pants are now too big). He's got 5 teeth. 2 bottom and 3 top. Last week he sat up in the crib by himself. This week he STOOD UP in his crib after his morning nap. Today out at breakfast he clapped his hands all by himself with no urging from Mama.

Our little baby is turning into a big boy right before our eyes.

We took a trip to Vashon Island to scout out a location for Brad, Dave and Lisa's next film The Checkout Girl. This is a beautiful Spanish villa that these 2 guys built by hand. Thanks Lisa for the pics!

Cash 7 + 8 Months

The past couple of months (September/October) Cash has grown taller and leaner, has mastered the army crawl by chasing the cats around the living room, and eats like a champ. He's got 2 bottom teeth and is working on 2 top ones. He likes to beat his toys and hands on hard surfaces. He's travelled to Fargo, ND, Charlotte, NC and Wrens, GA to visit both families.

While in Fargo, we spent a weekend at Uncle Gary's lake cabin with our friends and some of their kids. He also had his first pool experience and met his great grand parents, Papa Don and Grandma Byrle.

In Georgia, he met his great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and also his great-great grandmother, Annie Kate Atwell who just turned 105. He also got music lessons on the piano, guitar, harmonica, violin and saxiphone from his "Poppey"

Cash 6 Months

Cash has hit the 6 Month mark and has had quite a few "firsts". He's discovered himself on the iphone and the Flip video camera, so whenever he sees either item he immediately grabs for it. He's even taken to making short films already (see video below). He grabbed the camera from my hands and started holding it. Look out Daddy. You may have some competition!

Spent his first weekend with a group of about 20 people in a cabin/camping for our friend Andy's 40th birthday. Cash actually slept through the night. He did great and is quite the socialite.

Started solids last weekend. Carrots. He doesn't love them but he still eats them and swallows, according to what's in the diaper. :) And he's gotten more big boy toys lately that can stack, play music and this cool football below.

He's also slowly picking up sign language. He knows what milk means. He enjoys listening to Woody Guthrie Children songs. He'll stop playing to listen.

Next, we have to buy more clothes again!

Cash 5 Months

Boy have we had a busy month. Lots of activities and visitors, and lots of milestones for Cash.

He started rolling over onto his belly and decided to practice a few times at night...and thought it would be fun to have Mama and Daddy come roll him back over. We gave up the swaddle blanket soon after that. Our friends Brett and Chelsea had a fun wedding weekend over July 4 and Gigi came to visit and babysit. Also the same week our friend Katy was here for a few days, and I can't believe we forgot to take a picture! Sorry Katy! Then soon after, I left for a fun girls trip in Phoenix with Shannon Wilkinson and Danielle Theirl (fellow Moms), while Daddy and Grandma Rondi had fun with Cash. During that time they celebrated Rondi's and our friend Jeremy's birthday with a bbq, so they had fun too. Cash did great and I sure did miss him. We were able to do a webcam visit while I was away, and he seemed to recognize me on the computer screen.

Cash is really watching us eat now, but I am trying to hold off until 6 months but it's getting harder. He is really serious about his toys and scoots around to get what he wants. He is also starting to pull at the cat's fur...which is a real treat to watch. And, he's a little flirt with the girls and quite a show off with his cute smile and little tricks like hanging upside down when he's supposed to be eating. Cash Kosel 4 Months

Cash is now 4 months and is getting large. He's got some pretty thick legs and a big noggin. We are anxious to see what the doctor says next week about his size. We are betting money that he's over 20 lbs. He definitely has a personality now. His newest discovery is his voice. We sing and he talks back to us in this voice that sounds like a low-pitched seal. He also has a crazy oral fixation, sucking on anything and everything. He is becoming more aware of his surroundings and is starting to plan his attack on the cats one day. He loves to dance in Mama's arms to salsa music and giggles when I dip him. He also watches us eat and sticks his finger in my mouth when I chew. He is also soothing himself to sleep lately, which is a dream come true!

We took our first plane trip to our friends Alex and Veronica's wedding and to see family in Minneapolis. Cash got to meet his Aunt Sara, Uncle Jeff, and cousin's Jake and Sofie. It was a quick trip but really fun. Cash did pretty well on the plane except for when the loud speaker came on. Good thing we brought a pillow.

Cash is 3 months old now and is getting a little personality. Lot's happened over the past month. He slept through the night for the first time. He's grabbing at toys now and has given up any and all pacifiers for the trunk of a stuffed elephant. He likes to talk back to you, especially when you sing Old McDonald. He especially likes singing about the cow.

Socially, we've been busy. Our friends Jim, Shannon and Sienna from California and Heather from Minneapolis came for a long weekend visit. We realized how small our house really was, but we still all had a fun time. Cash and Sienna got to meet each other. That same weekend was our friend Bob's 40th birthday BBQ, where Daddy made his rock star debut. And in early May, Grandma Rondi and Aunt Kris were here. We sure hated for them to leave.

Cash 2 Months + Daddy's Birthday

Cash turns 2 months this week. He's looking a little like Charlie Brown with big eyes. He's growing and changing so quickly and developing his own personality. He likes bright lights and seeing his daddy's face when he comes home from work.

Finally, a Sunny day in Seattle. The gang had a picnic lunch at Gasworks Park.

Dad's 37th birthday party at our house. The pizza place wouldn't allow short people, so the party was rerouted. It was more fun that way. :)

Cash is 1 Month Already

We've had a busy few weeks. Things started out a bit fussy, but Cash is becoming more and more alert by the day. He likes his baths and he is starting to notice the stuffed animals on his play mat. And he's starting to smile. He likes to move and shake a lot, especially when he's hungry. He has a pretty strong right hook already. We are having a lot of fun. Now Grandma Williford (GiGi) is here for two weeks :) while Daddy had to go back to work. :(

Week 2, we are getting familiar with our little guy and learning what makes him happy (milk) and what makes him mad (diaper change) and how many different faces and noises he can make.

We've had a big 6 days so far. We went on our first walk yesterday in the sling. We went out for our first lunch. Cash seems to like to go for rides in the car. He is a big eater. We're just trying to get him to eat more during the day so he'll eat less at night. He loves the nibble on your neck and stare at you with those big eyes. And, boy is he gassy.

33 Weeks today and Pickle is growing like a weed. He is 3 weeks ahead of schedule, according to the doctor, and in the 95th percentile. So he's either a basketball player or... a basketball! Below are a few ultrasound pics. The stubborn little guy didn't want to move his hands from his face, but we finally got a look at that nose and lips. And get a look at those toes! Maybe we're having a monkey.

Just got back a week ago from visiting family in Georgia. Addie, my Mom, Aunt Virginia, Shelly, Aunt Amanda and Jessica hosted a shower for me at Shelly's. It was very nice and a nice turn out. I feel more ready for Pickle to come. Still have alot to do. Feeling good, though a little more tired lately.

24 Weeks Rondi Visit

This was nearly 3 weeks ago (Nov. 8) but better late than never. Rondi, Brad's Mom was here helping start on the nursery. We found a crib and dresser, and Rondi painted the nursery a color called "Butter." We sure hated to see her go.

21 Weeks Disco Baby

So, it's week 21....over halfway, and we have started to feel some movement. Seems to happen alot when I am working and listening to music. Already has good taste in bands, I guess! Everything is still looking good. I have been feeling great and very creative lately...which comes in handy for getting work done.

So here are signs of Pickle already at 16 weeks. I seemed to have sprouted out in the past week. The first trimester I had some queasiness and lots of sleep, but now I am feeling more energetic and like myself. I can't imagine my belly getting any bigger, but apparently I ain't seen nothing yet!
